I changed the first load icon of win 10 into a penguin and the whole screen became white, so I closed it in safe mode and it re-opened and everything was back to normal. Winaero Tweaker crashed.

I could see a lot of improvement in the settings done when setting options for the Tweaker. First of all, I could see more settings listed in the drop down boxes. I couldnt find the option to adjust the following:
- Appearance
- Command line options
- Color scheme
- Fonts
- Keyboard
I searched for the app in the Store. I then went to Win 10 Store and went to the search box and typed “Winaero” and it returned just the correct application I found with the Store search. A couple clicks and I installed Winaero Tweaker from the Store on my Win10 machine

– feature request: WinaeroTweaker would have something like indicator of new added options/features. Like in Windows Start Menu, there is New app installed or colored name so after update is clear what was added and wasnt used yet. Would be also particular layout like Bookmarks but with whats new.

Before I get this off my chest… Thank you for creating Winaero Tweaker. It’s great to be able to change the look of so many different Windows applications with one simple tool. I was always leery of installing programs that I didn’t need to meddle with the settings of, but Winaero Tweaker makes it easy, simple, and clean.
Additional features that would be awesome –
· The ability to limit what apps have access to what hardware
· The ability to have the same set of system related settings for multiple machines
· Real time updates
· On Windows Update, have all settings between known good system updates be checked in real time (see windows update’s settings page for this, Windows’ quite powerful but obscure)
· Browsing the internet while connected via 3g or 4g without having to connect to wifi first (Kind of like this, some reviews say this does not work in Windows, but it does work on Mobile)
· Ability to disable autorun for removable drives (USB ports)
· The ability to install all the default shims and drivers that come with a new Windows 10 installation (You can use the Tweaker to disable autorun and open drive options to control autorun before you install and upgrade)
· USB port settings – be able to set how many ports and which ports are opened and have power settings for those ports
· Ability to configure additional page file settings without the need for a PnP or disk defrag (config.sys for this can be changed by registry key – Windows Tweaker doesn’t display any settings related to page file settings)
· Windows 10 lock screen can get weirdly configured out of the box (if you have this you know what I’m talking about)
· The ability to have different tabs on the Houdini v/s Classic Menu (Tabs have been removed in Windows 10, Tweaker will show you what is in the folders)
· The ability to set what drives and folders to use for updates, login, and user folders (Windows Tweaker does not display any settings related to this)
· An option to keep the date and time synchronized across all machines and disable it during a specific time period (Windows 10 has this ability itself, but I’m not sure what to do about that)

I have used Winaero Tweaker for years. It is one of the best apps. Unfortunately, after installing build 1703 for my Windows 10 PC, I found my preference of running Windows 8.1 with the taskbar controls was no longer available. That feature was removed in the new build version. The app lost functionality after the upgrade. With the previous version of Winaero Tweaker you could increase the fonts to make the menu/task bar controls more visible. Unfortunately, the fonts are set too large and hard to read in the build 1703 version. This is not a bug with Winaero Tweaker. It is a bug in the build 1703 version of Windows 10 (or whatever it is called). Other Tweakers have the same issue.
How can I convert this version of Winaero Tweaker to the previous version? I have the previous version of Winaero Tweaker installed but it doesn’t seem to recognize that version of Tweaker. Any suggestions? This same version of Tweaker worked fine with Windows 10 Build 1703 Anniversary update.
I found the solution. At the bottom right of the application there is a button titled “Save this version”. Once I clicked on that button, the old version of Tweaker reappeared. To change the version back to the old one, just click on the “Save this version” button again to restore to the old version.
It is very frustrating that after upgrading to Windows 10 last week, my Winaero Tweaker ceased to work. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this? I finally realized that I also lost some “in-app” settings (like dash blur) when I upgraded. In fact, not even the “Desktop” shortcut in Tweak. The tasks pane also no longer appears. And I was unable to reset the settings (to defaults). Everything is turned on by default. And of course I have no idea how to turn them back off.
