The Apache OpenOffice suite is available in a large number of different OSs and is, therefore, very popular in the business and technical field. The new and current OpenOffice version is still slightly inferior to that of the commercial rival Office, which is still supported by the user community, for example, because of the need to migrate to the new version.
Apache OpenOffice is 100% open source and is therefore more flexible and customizable for its users. The program can be downloaded, loaded on your computer, modified and optimized. In particular, the program format or template can be tailored precisely to your needs. The OpenOffice developer community is also very active. For example, OpenOffice provides various graphics and templates which can be downloaded from the Internet. In addition, the developer community implements extensive new features for OpenOffice at each release.
The program is also a little more expensive than the competing programs. On the other hand, you will be able to find the necessary features if you look hard. OpenOffice and LibreOffice are equally good as free office alternatives.
As you can see, there is no perfect alternative to Microsoft Office – each program has its unique pros and cons. The advantages of Office 2016 are easily outweighed by the advantages of OpenOffice. In addition, there are a great number of business-related and technical features that Microsoft Office lacks and the Free OpenOffice Crack has.
The two products were developed simultaneously and both are equally excellent. OpenOffice contains a broad catalog of templates for working with documents and data in various areas. The new OpenOffice release will be updated on a regular basis and current users are guaranteed to receive new features almost at once.

Yet another suite of office applications available for Windows, Linux and Mac. As far as I can tell, it is similar to another open source office suite “LibreOffice”, and is based on the OpenOffice.org suite.
LibreOffice, another project, further down in the charts, is also looking for an OS-independent ecosystem. But how does OpenOffice compare to LibreOffice. Besides the obvious differences in looks and stability, what else can we say about them?
OpenOffice and LibreOffice are both Open Source Software. On the Linux side, they are both licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) in case you care about that. On the Windows side they are both licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). These licenses, and in particular the LGPL, are a bit restrictive in what they allow. It allows users to use the software on any platform, provided they are allowed to modify it or extend it.
You are probably wondering about the last year or so between versions or if OpenOffice is still actively developed. The short answer is yes. The long answer is that OpenOffice.org was purchased by Sun and then sold to Oracle. When OpenOffice was acquired, both projects were merged under one Apache-licensed top project. Since then, the group of people in charge has made sure the main project does not become a maintenance relic for a dead product.
LibreOffice comes from the largest open source project ever, Apache OpenOffice. Apache OpenOffice is a suite designed by volunteers. It is a fully functional office suite, and has many functions that are similar to MS Office.

The concept of the study of the FPS Economy was to investigate the reasons for not adopting OpenOffice.org. By this we mean that the fact that a certain process or product is not adopted as standard could be related to one or more reasons. We therefore intended to identify the factors influencing the adoption of OpenOffice.org. We have presented the results of a qualitative study of OpenOffice.org by focusing on the reasons for not adopting OpenOffice.org in the FPS Economy. The reasons presented in the section ‘Who Uses OpenOffice and Why Is It Important’ of the study refer to the lower echelons of the hierarchy. By investigating the different reasons which can influence the decision at these levels, we aimed to determine their importance in the decision to not adopt OpenOffice.org as the standard office suite.
The FPS Economy had been using OOo for a few years as the standard office suite, but several problems in its support and migration led to the decision to adopt Microsoft Office. These problems included changes in the software landscape, short-term economic problems, a general lack of knowledge on the advantages of OpenOffice.org, and a lack of any significant economic impact due to the use of OpenOffice.org. Instead, the company found a strong potential to reduce the use of licenses for office software, as well as the IT administration costs. Hence, management decided to investigate the suitability of OpenOffice.org for the use in their organization.
Approximately 70% of the end-users in the FPS Economy are responsible for preparing governmental documents and reports. Their main use of a word processor is document creation and the highlighting of necessary information, leading to a high use of text processing. The main users of OpenOffice.org are designers, and spreadsheet users, with 80% of OpenOffice.org users having used OpenOffice.org as a spreadsheet program, and 25% having used it as a word processor (Figure 2). The adoption of OpenOffice.org also has a positive effect on productivity: users are much more productive with a fast and user-friendly word processor, such as OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org is a good option for users who enjoy working with a word processor, but who do not require the advanced statistical functionality of an office suite. The absence of this functionality can be compensated by SAS.
