I’ve tried to work with tech support, but I can’t get any of them to read my error log. When I try to open the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles
\ folder in the Windows Explorer, it said that the directory could not be found. Plus, trying to use the backup utility I found on the net (https://www.tuz.com/tb-backup-for-thunderbird/) didn’t work either.
Hey, all!
I was chatting with a few Thunderbird Developers and was wondering if you’ve found a good way to work around the problems? Have you guys had any success already?
If you haven’t, I’m wondering if you could comment on what kind of delay you need? Do you think it would be beneficial to add a test to the configurations for a few of the more common places (like remote resources, or cloud storage)?
I work on the Windows version of mail and it happens for me often, but nothing too good except that I could forward back to my normal address when I launch a new conversation.
(I guess a little image macro of the exchange could also be helpful for people who aren’t familiar with the bug.)
I’m still having issues with the new version. The issue is that when I want to send an email, if the mail is going to an old address, Thunderbird will give me a new address, but when I go to send the email to that address, it says “Can’t establish a connection to the server”.
Well my guess would be that this is a bug with Thunderbird that needs to be resolved. I don’t think PortableApps.com is involved here. If you could post a bug against moz-thunderbird on bugzilla.mozilla.org that would be great.

Next to be deprecated is the Contacts sub-menu which is on top of the new Account Setup Hub. Instead, you can now access it by right-clicking a contact to open Contacts. And with it, you can search for a contact, import a contact from your old Thunderbird, or add a new contact. Or, just use the Account Setup Hub to open Contacts right from there.
Doing a search and navigating to “Search.thunderbirduser.com” now yields an automatic and secure certificate exception without a dialog box. In this release, add-on developers can use the new add-on API to access search results as well as manipulate search results.
So I just installed latest daily build, which is Tb 102.2.0 from the mozilla PPA for Thunderbird on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx and now I get the same behaviour. I can’t see that certificate on my list of available ones. Therefore, I have a self-signed cert that is rejected by Thunderbird (and by Gmails SSL warning). Is there a way to define my self-signed cert on Tb?
@Nimit; as you mention your self-signed certificate being rejected by Thunderbird, I am wondering if you are using a self-signed certificate on your mail server as well. If so, try updating to Thunderbird 105.0.1 to see if you can get rid of the error. If it persists you could contact mozilla TB support, we can help you verify your certificate on your mail server as well.
It seems to be a Thunderbird issue, maybe related to the new import system. Since I am using a Microsoft Exchange email server the hostname of the actual server could be different than what I’m presented with. Maybe some tooling to convert between those two would be helpful

What is Mozilla Thunderbird 102.2.0?

I dont think anyone mentioned the biggest strength of Thunderbird over Outlook. Outlook uses a single huge file to hold all the data. Thunderbird uses separate files to hold calendar, contact, and each email folders information. If any single file gets corrupted in Thunderbird, the damage is limited. In outlook, everything is gone. Archiving is also handled better in Thunderbird since you can create archive folders; each capable of holding the max file size worth of data (although I would not recommend that spread them out).
Thunderbird is the safe, fast email client that’s easy to use. It has lots of great features including quick message search, customizable views, support for IMAP/POP, RSS support and more. It has built in OpenPGP support.
Thunderbird Portable Edition is a standalone version of the email and newsgroup client for use with PortableApps.com portable applications. It features all of the features of the full version of Thunderbird, including RSS, newsgroup, support for multiple accounts.
The Portable Edition of Thunderbird is based on the full version of Thunderbird and is designed for use with PortableApps.com portable applications. It features all of the features of the full version of Thunderbird, including RSS, newsgroup, support for multiple accounts.
People who are interested in adding the benefits of the web browser to their portable application will find Thunderbird and its HTML-based website interface to be a refreshing change from the typical wysiwyg interface used by most portable email clients.
As is the case with Firefox, Thunderbird supports addons can be used to customise and extend the features of the program. Getting started with the email client has been greatly simplified thanks to automatic account setting detection and nice touches such as the appearance of a warning if an email is written which includes the word ‘attached’ but no attachment is added make Thunderbird a joy to use.
